Genesis 1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Psalm 139:13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Psalm 119:73 Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.
Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
The Bible clearly tells me I am created. The Webster dictionary says created means to bring into existence.
I am created means I am not SELF made and I am dependent – humbling.
I am created means there must be a creator and a purpose for being created.
Answer to who is the creator is easy – God!
Answer to purpose for being created – I think the simplest answer is:
Go back to the beginning in Genesis where we see God walking in the garden with His creation -Adam and Eve. This points me to a relationship. Yes there is more such as worship, being a body and blessing each other etc. I think these come out of the relationship.
My favorite purpose is: Revelation 4:11 KJV Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power; for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
I have difficulty understanding “for thy pleasure they are and were created “ but it sure feels good.
Just as in Genesis we see relationship we see it also in Revelations.
“Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4
In between Genesis and Revelation we read about a “with us God” who pursues his creation.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
Psalm 117:1-2 O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth forever. Praise ye the LORD.
