Prediction or Promise; Which Would You Prefer?

Prediction or Promise; Which Would You Prefer?

I don’t know about you but I am finding that we are being inundated these days with information and it can feel pretty overwhelming. Seems like everyone is making some kind of a prediction about one thing or another. The word predict means “to declare or indicate in advance”; “to foretell on the basis of observation, experience, or scientific reason”. So basically a prediction is an educated guess. That got me thinking about the reality of a prediction ~ the fact that it may or may not be true in the end. It all leaves me feeling stressed, worried and fearful of the unknowns.

While I was thinking about all of this my mind was turned to God. Oh how thankful I am that God doesn’t predict anything. That He never just takes an educated guess, but that He always uses PROMISES. He PROMISES us that He will never leave us or forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5) He PROMISES us that He is good and His love endures forever. (Psalm 136) He has gone before us to prepare a place for us and PROMISES that He will come and take us to Himself. (John 14:3) This leaves me feeling confident, sure and certain that if God promises it then it will happen….no matter what.

These promises are there for all people, if we just confess our sin to Him, open up our hearts to allow Him full control, and then do our best at living each day for Him.
Open up the bible and begin to see just how many promises are there for you and for me!!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
